Black Hills Accounting delivers full-cycle bookkeeping across three flat-rate tiers — Essential, Growth, and Scale — each covering a defined scope of work with a guaranteed response time, no hourly billing, and no scope creep. You know exactly what you're getting and exactly what it costs.

What Full-Cycle Means

Every tier includes the complete operational core: bank and credit card reconciliation, general ledger maintenance, journal entries, fixed asset tracking, CPA liaison, crypto and forex validation, software migration, payment processor integration (Square, Stripe, Clover), and document digitization. There is no stripped-down base plan — every client starts with a fully functional back office.

What scales across tiers is capacity and depth: the number of accounts managed, financial reporting frequency, response time SLA, AP/AR management, budget analysis, and cash flow forecasting.

The Three Tiers

Essential — $350/mo

Up to 2 bank and credit accounts. Quarterly financial statements. Annual budget review. Sales and use tax filing. 48-hour response guarantee. The complete operational core for a lean, well-run business.

Growth — $800/mo

Up to 5 accounts. Monthly financial statements. Monthly budget vs. actual review. AP/AR management. Priority sales tax filing. 24-hour response guarantee. Built for businesses with active vendor and customer workflows that need tighter reporting cadence.

Scale — $1,800/mo

Up to 10 accounts. On-demand financial statements. Cash flow forecasting. 4-hour response guarantee. The full service stack for complex operations that require real-time financial visibility and immediate support.

All tiers include physical document scanning and digital dashboard upload allowances that scale with your plan.

Bookkeeping Workflow

How It Works

  1. Intake & Configuration
    We set up or migrate your QuickBooks or Xero environment, configure your chart of accounts, and connect your payment processors. If prior-period work is needed to bring your books current before your start date, it is scoped and estimated separately before any work begins.
  2. Monthly Processing
    Every transaction is categorized, every account reconciled, and every discrepancy resolved — including complex feeds from digital assets, multi-currency accounts, or high-volume payment processors.
  3. Reporting & Review
    You receive financial statements on the cadence your tier includes. We translate the numbers into plain language so you understand your position without having to interpret accounting jargon.
  4. Ongoing CPA Coordination
    We maintain a direct liaison relationship with your tax professional throughout the year — not just at year-end — so your filings are never a scramble.

Prior-Period Work

Your flat-rate plan covers all bookkeeping from your service start date forward. Any work required to bring prior accounting periods current — transaction categorization, historical reconciliation, document processing, or data collection for dates before your start date — is billed hourly at $45/hr under our Catch-Up & Clean-Up service. A written estimate is provided before any prior-period work begins. As a courtesy, prior-period balances may be paid in installments over 3 to 6 months.

Annual Prepay

Clients who pay annually receive a 10% discount on any tier, with the rate locked for the full year. Essential drops to $315/mo ($3,780/yr). Growth to $720/mo ($8,640/yr). Scale to $1,620/mo ($19,440/yr).
